Criteria	Details
Basic Qualification	Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Computer Science/Civil/ECE/Instrumentation Engineering/IT from a recognized institution, or CA/ICWA/MBA
Age	Minimum age 50 years at the time of appointment
Experience	- Minimum of 25 years in a Central/State Public Utility or Central Electricity Authority - Experience in electricity generation/distribution for at least 10 years - Held position of Chief Engineer or Engineer-in-Chief (or equivalent) in a Power Utility Company for at least 2 years during the 25-year period
Superannuation & Tenure	Initial appointment for 2 years, extendable up to a maximum of 5 years. No CMD shall continue in service beyond the age of 65 years. Terms as per the appointment letter.
