The Indian Navy Agniveer (SSR) Recruitment 2026 offers a great opportunity for young candidates who wish to serve the nation through the naval forces. The recruitment drive is conducted by the Indian Navy to select eligible unmarried male and female candidates for the Agniveer (SSR) 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. Candidates will be selected through the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) followed by further stages of evaluation. This recruitment provides a chance for candidates who have completed their 10+2 education with Physics and Mathematics or possess a relevant engineering diploma to build a career in the defence sector. The recruitment process aims to identify capable and disciplined individuals who are physically fit, academically qualified, and motivated to serve the country. The selection process for Indian Navy Agniveer (SSR) Recruitment 2026 consists of multiple stages to ensure only the best candidates are chosen. The first stage is the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), which will be conducted online. The exam will include objective-type questions covering English, Science, Mathematics, and General Awareness. The level of the examination will be based on the 10+2 standard. Candidates who qualify for the INET examination will move to the next stage, which includes the Physical Fitness Test, a written examination, and a recruitment medical examination. The Physical Fitness Test is designed to assess the physical capability and endurance of candidates. Only candidates who pass the fitness test will be eligible to appear in the Stage II written examination. Those who successfully clear all stages of the selection process will be placed in a merit list prepared on a state-wise basis. Candidates who secure a place in the provisional select list will be called for final training at INS Chilka in Odisha. Selected candidates will be enrolled as Agniveers in the Indian Navy for a period of four years under the Agnipath scheme. During this period, candidates will receive military training, discipline, and professional skills required for naval operations and responsibilities. The training is expected to begin in December 2026 for the first batch and May 2027 for the second batch. Agniveers will receive a monthly salary package starting at ₹30,000 in the first year, along with annual increments. Apart from the salary, candidates will also receive allowances such as risk allowance, travel allowance, and dress allowance. At the end of the four-year service period, Agniveers will receive a Seva Nidhi package, which includes their own contribution and an equal contribution from the government. Additionally, Agniveers will be covered under a non-contributory life insurance policy worth ₹48 lakh during their service period. In case of death attributable to service, additional ex-gratia compensation is also provided to the nominee. After completion of four years of service, up to 25 percent of the Agniveers may be selected for permanent enrollment in the Indian Navy as regular sailors. The selection for permanent service will depend on the organization’s requirements, performance during service, and other evaluation criteria.
